I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, where I attended Franklin Road Academy from pre-kindergarten all the way through high school. For as long as I can remember, fitness and athletics have been a major focus in my life. From a very early age, I have had a strong competitive drive and a need to test myself physically. To feed this drive I participated in just about every sport imaginable until I finally found my true love in the sport of track and field. My academic and athletic accomplishments led me to attend The University of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill where I majored in psychology and was a member of the track and field team for 4 years as a decathlete. Upon graduating, I returned home to Nashville and began my career in social work as a child and adolescent case manager for a non-profit mental health organization. It was also at this time that I began coaching track and field at my alma mater while keeping my own competitive fire burning by studying and competing in the beautiful grappling art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
I have always had a desire to help people lead healthier lives, whether the focus be on the mental/emotional or the physical. It wasn't until after I started coaching that I realized my calling was in the fitness field. This calling has led me to The Delta. I believe that there is an athlete in each one of us. Some may have harnessed that athlete in the past and lost it somewhere along the way while others may have not yet tapped into that part of themselves. While everyone's journey is different, and some may be further away than others, each of us needs a leader to serve as a guide on the road of fitness recovery, or discovery. That is where I come in. As a fitness coach, I work with my clients to bring the athlete out so that they can remove any barriers in their way and reach their fitness goals with clear eyes and a full heart.
